I have a private Wiki where I keep snippets, useful bits of code and the like. One section of the Wiki is dedicated to Unix tools, mainly shell commands. I generally use MacOS and Linux/GNU

  1. Find your public IP in the shell
  2. Chaining commands
  3. Archive and Compress files
  4. Search in history
  5. Kill a process by port
  6. Open localhost in browser for given port from the terminal
  7. Check port is open in shell script
